I’ve been thinking we can do seniors ministry better, and we could also harness our ability to create and provide hospitality in deliberate ways. For example, a monthly lunch for people – soup and a bun maybe – for anyone who just wants to come and share a meal together. A chance to interact, eat with others, make connections, and be fed. Or a evening meal targeted at those who work and often rush through a meal – getting fast food for example. Families especially would benefit from a meal together, where they can sit and enjoy some time, good food, and rest – before racing off to the next scheduled apointment.
Creating space for life, relationship, connecting with others, support, and nourishment – body-mind and spirit, would/could all happen.
